After launching the Maruti Suzuki Dzire in India three months back the market leader did get busy in inaugurating its Nexa service centers and also upgrading its True Value used car showrooms. The company will soon be shifting its focus in rolling out the facelift on its Maruti Suzuki S-Cross. 2017 Maruti Suzuki S-cross will be launched in India at the beginning of the festive season which is as soon as end of September confirmed a source close to the company. The facelift on S-cross was first showcased in Europe last year and looks like the company will be brining in the same exterior changes on the new model. We expect Maruti Suzuki to change the face of the car and give it a bold front grille finished in chrome The crossover vehicle will continue to get projector headlamp and will additionally DRLs, at the rear the 2017 S-Cross model will get a thinner LED rear combination lamps. The car will continue to get integrated roof rails. We expect minor changes on the interiors as well. Maruti Suzuki is already offering a touchscreen ‘Smart Play Infotainment system’ that supports navigation and bluetooth. The 2017 model is expected to support other features like Apple Car Play and Google Android Auto.
Maruti Suzuki S-Cross made its Indian debut in 2015 and was the first car to be sold through Nexa dealerships. The car was launched with two diesel engine options 1.3L and 1.6L however, the company discontinued the sale of 1.6L diesel S-Cross due to less demand. We expect Maruti Suzuki S-Cross to make no mechanical changes on the S-Cross and is unlikely that company will introduce a petrol engine variant or an automatic transmission on its new upcoming S-Cross.. Maruti Suzuki S-Cross sales averages around 2000-2100 units a month in the domestic market confirmed the company. 2017 Maruti Suzuki S-cross is expected to be launched in five variants and might be priced about Rs 20,000 – 30,000 higher than the outgoing model. Currently the S-Cross is priced between Rs 7.94 – 11.66 lakh (Ex-Delhi). During financial year 2016-17, Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 21,417 units of its S-Cross crossover in the domestic market and exported about 4,303 units.
