The FZ series has been Yamaha Motor India’s mainstay, and the Japanese brand has patented the motorcycle’s new design in India. Recently, Yamaha added the FZ-S Fi Hybrid trim, and expanded the lineup to seven trims. Let’s take a closer look at the FZ’s new styling elements and ethos.
New Yamaha FZ: Design
What’s not broken, why fix it? That’s exactly the philosophy Yamaha has followed, and we also totally agree. The FZ continues to sport a muscular road presence with chunky tank extensions, which house front indicators. It is expected to get a brand new TFT instrument cluster with more in-depth rider’s information, turn-by-turn navigation system, music control, SMS, email and call alerts, live fuel economy update, maintenance recommendations. Along with this comes connected tech, or as Yamaha calls it Y-Connect. This version of the FZ is not expected to come with coloured alloy wheels.

New Yamaha FZ: Specifications
Based on the patent image, the new FZ appeared to be powered by Yamaha’s 149cc engine with a smart motor generator system and a start-stop tech. The engine has an output of 12.2 bhp at 7,250 rpm and 13.3 Nm at 5,500 rpm.
The FZ is expected to retain the current model’s dimensions and will be based on a 1,333mm wheelbase. The overall length of the bike is expected to be 2,000mm, height of 1,080mm and a kerb weight of 138 kg. It also has a ground clearance of 165mm and a seat height of 790 mm. The FZ rides on 17-inch wheels in front and rear with a front disc brake of 282 mm and a 220 mm disc at the rear.

Yamaha 10-year warranty
Yamaha recently launched an industry-first 10-Year ‘Total Warranty’ programme for all made-in-India motorcycles and scooters. The new warranty package includes a 2-year standard warranty and an additional 8-year extended warranty, covering essential components such as the engine, electrical systems, and the Fuel Injection (FI) unit. The warranty is fully transferable to subsequent owners, enhancing the resale value of Yamaha vehicles.
