The 400 cc motorcycle segment is set to become more competitive with Triumph Motorcycles preparing to broaden its entry-level range. Although the British manufacturer has not confirmed the models, it is widely anticipated that they will introduce the Thruxton 400 and either a street or retro classic variant. These motorcycles are expected to share the same platform as the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400 X.
Triumph Thruxton 400: What to expect?
Like the current two 400 cc motorcycles, the new bikes are expected to be aggressively priced and will manufactured in Bajaj’s Chakan plant in Pune. Based on a CNBC TV 18 report, the Bajaj-Triumph alliance will soon be launching two new 400 cc motorcycles.Â
There have been a few spy images of the Thruxton 400 testing and it retains the iconic café racer design with a pronounced semi-faring on a traditional round headlamp. Based on its racing DNA, the Thruxton 400 gets clip-on handlebars, a windshield and side-view mirrors mounted on the edge of the handlebars. Based on the spy images, the Thruxton 400 also gets an underbody skid plate for additional protection.
Triumph 400cc: Specifications
