Triumph Daytona 660 styling

The teaser images reveal that Daytona 660 will flaunt a typical sports bike styling with a fully-faired body although it is likely to be more of a sports tourer than a full-fledged race bike. Visual highlights include twin LED headlamp setup, rearview mirrors mounted on the front apron, a floating tail section, and an engine cowl with 660 decals.

Triumph Daytona 660 specs & features

The new Daytona 660 will be based on the same platform underpinning Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660. This means it will be powered by the same 660cc, inline triple-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which dishes out 80 bhp and 64 Nm of peak torque. Going by Triumph’s history, we expect the same state of tune to be offered in the new-gen Daytona. This motor will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch.

In terms of hardware, while the main frame will be retained, the Daytona 660 will likely receive a new rear subframe. Suspension setup will be carried out by upside down front forks and a mono-shock at the rear. It is expected to roll on 17-inch front and rear alloy wheels shod with Michelin tyres.

Braking will be handled by disc brakes at both ends but Triumph is likely to employ radial callipers instead of axial units offered in the current 660s. The electronics package is likely to include two riding modes– Rain and Road, traction control, and bi-directional quickshifter.
