According to the Federation of Automobile Dealer Associations (FADA), the sector experienced a slight dip in market share, dropping from 6.4% in January to 5.6% in February. TVS Motor held onto second place, followed by Ather Energy, while Ola managed to stay in fourth place ahead of Greaves Electric.
Bajaj Auto: 21,389 units
Bajaj has been on an upward trajectory for the last couple of months since it took the number one position for the first in December where it took 25% of the 2W EV market. Chetak hit the jackpot again in February as it registered 21,389 units. The month-on-month increase was only 0.37%, but the Bajaj EV saw a massive 81.82% spike year-on-year. In January 2025, Chetak sold 21,310 units and 11,764 units in February 2024.

TVS Motor: 18,762 units
TVS Motor missed the top spot as the best-selling two-wheeler EV in January 2025 by just 527 units. The company registered 18,762 units in February, which is a -21.20% drop in sales month-on-month and a 28.16% bump up year-on-year. TVS sold 23,809 units in January 2025 and 14,639 units in February 2024.

Ather Energy: 11,807 units
Based on the FADA report, Ather Energy improved its position in the market by securing the third spot, one better than January 2025. With 12,906 units in January, Ather Energy saw a -8.52 dip in sales month-on-month, but an impressive 29.80% spike year-on-year. In February, Ather became the third company, after Bajaj Auto and TVS Motor, to surpass 10,000 unit sales.

Ola Electric: 8,647 units
Ola only could muster 8,647 units pushing it down from number one to fourth best two-wheeler electric company. The major dip in sales could be as Ola was renegotiating contracts with its vehicle registration agencies, which impacted the Vahan registration numbers. This could be the reason why the company saw a huge -64.47% dip month-on-month as it registered 24,336 units in January 2025. The company witnessed a bigger -74.61% drop year-on-year.

Greaves Electric Mobility: 3,700 units
It was another steady month for Greaves Electric with 3,700 units in February, which is a 2.46% increase month-on-month and a major 48.71% growth year-on-year. It sold 3,611 units in January 2025 and 2,488 units in February 2024.Â
