Hero Splendor Plus

The Splendor nameplate is an iconic one as it has ruled the roost for almost 30 years. The design appeals to both rural and urban buyers. The secret behind this unprecedented success is its bulletproof reliability backed by a strong service network. The USP of the Splendor, now updated and named Splendor Plus, is its mileage claim of 80 kmpl. The Splendor Plus is powered by a 97.2cc single-cylinder engine with an output of 8bhp and 8.05Nm. It is mated to a 4-speed transmission. The Splendor Plus starts from Rs 75,141 to Rs 77,986, ex-showroom Delhi.

Hero HF Deluxe

Another workhorse motorcycle from Hero MotoCorp is the HF Deluxe. It is a more basic version of the Splendor Plus though it does receive subtle changes. HF Deluxe is lower in height and shorter in length when compared to the Splendor Plus. The former’s tank capacity is a shade smaller as well. The biggest difference is that the Splendor Plus gets a 5-step adjustable suspension step-up while the HF Deluxe comes with a 2-step one. Even though the HF Deluxe has the same 97.2cc engine with identical power output, its claimed fuel efficiency figures are 70 kmpl. It’s priced from Rs 60,000 to Rs 68,768, ex-showroom Delhi.

Bajaj Platina 100

Bajaj’s most affordable motorcycle Platina 100 is priced at Rs 67,808, ex-showroom Delhi. The Platina 100 gets a 102cc engine that pumps out 7.8bhp and 8.3Nm of torque. Mated to a 4-speed gearbox, it also offers an electric start. According to the claimed mileage, the Platina 100 returns 70 kmpl.

The beauty is that there is no compromise on fuel efficiency as it claims a mileage of 70 kmph. It is mated to a 4-speed gearbox and the CT 110X starts from Rs 69,216, ex-showroom Delhi.
