It is no secret that Ola Electric is working on a number of battery-powered two-wheelers. While the Bengaluru-based EV manufacturing startup has already made a sizable market share in the electric two-wheeler space with its S1 range of e-scooters, the company now wants to expand into the electric motorcycle space which is currently a niche segment.
To jog back memories, Ola Electric showcased four concept electric bikes at its annual community event on August 15 last year. Designs of three of these concepts have already been patented by the company. Now, Bhavish Aggarwal, Ola Electric CEO, has teased one of its motorcycles through his personal X (formerly Twitter) handle.
Ola Electric motorcycle battery teased
In his latest tweet, Aggarwal has partially teased a battery of its upcoming electric motorcycle. The battery is wrapped around a host of electronics, wires and sensors. Moreover, the battery is housed within a steel tubular chassis. From the looks of it, the battery seems to be used as a stress member of the main frame. This gives the bike better handling capabilities due to lower centre of gravity.

The image shows a battery pack which is slightly larger than most batteries seen in the electric scooters underpinned by a tubular frame. A similar setup is also seen in existing premium electric motorcycles like Ultraviolette F77 and Matter Aera. So we can expect the motorcycle to offer more than a decent range.
The picture also shows the front sprocket which leads to a chain final drive. Other visible highlights include a mid-set footpeg, and platform where the seat will be mounted. Ola Electric is expected to launch its first electric motorcycle by 2026.
Earlier last year, Ola Electric showcased prototypes for four electric bikes named Adventure, Roadster, Cruiser, and Diamondhead. Barring Diamondhead, design for the rest of the bikes have already been patented in India which means there is a good chance of their market launch. All three bikes signify their styling and category, respectively whereas the Diamondhead concept appears to be a full-fledged electric sports bike.
