Hero MotoCorp launched the Xoom 125 at the Bharat Mobility Expo, alongside its larger sibling, the Xoom 160. Priced at Rs 86,900 ex-showroom, the Xoom 125 targets the TVS Ntorq, Suzuki Avensis, and the Honda Dio 125, offering a sporty design to appeal to the youth. If you have decided that the Hero Xoom is the scooter for you, there are two variants on offer – VX and ZX – and here’s how the two differ from each other.
Hero Xoom 125 variants and features
The Hero Xoom 125 variants share all the basics, such as the design, and crucially, the engine, which is a 124.6cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that makes 9.8bhp and 10.4Nm of torque with the help of a CVT. They also have the same suspension setup, a telescopic fork in the front and a monoshock at the rear. They also get 14-inch wheels wrapped in 110-section front and 120-section rear tyres. Now let’s look at the differences.
Hero Xoom 125 VX

The Hero Xoom 125 VX is the entry-level variant and is priced at Rs 86,900 ex-showroom. The scooter comes in two colour options – Matte Strom Grey and Metallic Turbo Blue – while it gets drum brakes at both ends, 14-inch cast alloy wheels, LED indicators and headlight, a digital instrument console, and a 5-litre fuel tank. All the packaging gives the Hero Xoom 125 VX a kerb weight of 120kg.
Hero Xoom 125 ZX

Being the range-topping variant, the Xoom 125 ZX costs Rs 92,900 ex-showroom. For the extra price, the Xoom 125 ZX gets two extra colours – Matte Neon Lime and Inferno Red – in addition to the two colours the VX variant gets. That said, the ZX variant gets a disc brake at the front, LED sequential indicators, machined alloy wheels, turn-by-turn navigation, front storage with a USB charger, an illuminated start button, and a boot lamp. The Hero Xoom 125 ZX weighs 1 kg more than the VX version at 121kg.
