Hero MotoCorp set foot in the world of electric mobility in 2022 when it launched its Vida range of electric scooters. Currently, Hero offers two Vida e-scooters in the form of V1 Plus and V1 Pro. The largest two-wheeler manufacturer had earlier promised the expansion of its electric two-wheeler lineup under the Vida sub-brand.

The company has filed a patent for a new electric scooter in the country. From the first glance on this patent image, it seems it will be a more cost-effective scooter from Hero Vida. The patent image indicates that this could possibly be a more family-oriented electric scooter based on the Vida V1 platform.

Hero Vida e-scooter: Design

Hero has adopted a more contemporary design for its upcoming e-scooter with a broad, slightly sloping seat, a flat footboard, a foldable hook, and clean side panels. The font apron houses the main V-shaped headlamp cluster whereas LED winkers extend out of that this could possibly be a more family-oriented electric scooter based on the Vida V1 platform. On close inspection, we find that the saddle is split into and the rear grab handle is a single-piece unit.

When it comes to hardware, it is likely to roll on 12-inch spoke alloy wheels which don’t feature disc brakes or ABS sensor rings. Underpinnings will include twin-coil suspension at the front, and rear dual-shock absorbers. Going by the size of the side section, it is likely to receive massive underseat storage area.

Hero Vida e-scooter: Expected specs, features, & price

The current Vida V1 Plus uses two removable batteries with a total capacity of 3.94 kWh and a real world range of 110 km. The battery sends energy to a 6kW electric motor that pushes out 25 Nm of peak torque. The motor seen in the patent images appears to be the same as seen on V1 Plus.

We expect the upcoming Hero Vida e-scooter to offer more basic equipment including a digital LCD instrument panel, Bluetooth connectivity, etc. It is too soon to predict prices of the e-scooter, especially since the FAME II subsidy is set to make way for the recently announced Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme 2024 on April 1. Still, Hero will aim to price this upcoming scooter around Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom).
