Bajaj has launched a new range of Chetak electric scooters in the market. Called Chetak 2901, prices for the new range start at Rs 95,998 (ex-showroom, Bangalore). Bookings for the new range of the e-scooter are currently underway at all the 500 Chetak showrooms in the country or the brand’s official website with deliveries slated to start June 15 onwards.
The new Chetak 2901 is slotted below the Chetak Urbane and will serve as an entry-point to the electric scooter lineup. Visually, the Chetak 2901 is identical to the other two variants of the e-scooter. The new trim will be available in five colour options including Red, White, Black, Lime Yellow and Azure Blue.
Speaking at the launch of the new Chetak 2901, Eric Vas, President,Urbanite, Bajaj Auto Ltd., said, “We are pleased to announce the start of shipments of Chetak 2901 to Chetak dealerships. The Chetak 2901 is designed, specced and priced to attract customers who are currently purchasing a petrol scooter to a proper full size metal body electric scooter that can match and exceed a petrol scooter, without denting their wallet.”

Powering the Chetak 2901 is a smaller.8kWh battery as compared to the Chetak Urbane’s 2.9kWh battery. The Chetak 2901 claims a range of 123 km (ARAI) on a single charge, and lower top speed of 63 kmph. In comparison, the Urbane offers a 113 km range and a top speed of 73 kmph (both claimed).
In terms of features, Chetak 2901 comes equipped with a coloured digital console, alloy wheels, and Bluetooth connectivity. To further spruce up the equipment, customers can opt for the TecPac that adds on features such as hill hold, reverse, sport and economy modes, call and music control, follow me home lights, and Bluetooth App connectivity.
