Stellantis is one of the many automotive conglomerates committed to electrify its lineup across all the brands by the end of this decade. Jeep being one of its subsidiary key brands is also working rigorously to achieve this target with the launch of new hybrids and electric vehicles. One of the most anticipated EVs from Jeep is the upcoming Compass EV.
The new-gen Jeep Compass is expected to break cover in the next few weeks in Europe before it goes on sale in other parts of the world.Jeep had earlier confirmed that the upcoming second-gen Compass will be available in several powertrain options including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric versions.
Jeep Compass EV: Exterior highlights
A test mule of the upcoming fully-electric Compass was recently caught on cameras just a few weeks ahead of its global debut. The fully camouflaged prototype was seen in Italy, likely during the final phase of its development testing. Although intricate details of the SUV’s design still remain under wraps, the latest spy shots reveal a lot about the upcoming battery-powered SUV.

Some of the noticeable visual highlights include a faux grille panel with piano black finish up front flanked by rectangular LED headlamps. The new Compass EV sticks to a familiar boxy silhouette but with a more squared-off stance accentuating its tough and rugged exterior design.
Earlier teasers hinted at sleek LED headlights positioned alongside a revamped seven-slot grille, which is anticipated to feature illumination. On the prototype, though, the grille is entirely concealed, likely to keep final design elements under wraps. The front bumper includes a cooling intake with active flaps—an aerodynamic feature particularly important in the EV age.
The test mule captured in the latest spy shots is equipped with a fully electric powertrain, which accounts for the missing exhaust tailpipe. The roof appears flatter compared to the gently sloping design of the current Jeep Compass. Familiar elements like the squared wheel arches, traditional door handles, and sleek-edged ORVMs remain unchanged.

The side profile stands out thanks to new alloy wheels and a straight beltline. That said, the new Compass definitely looks longer than the current model. Previous teaser images have shown the taillights have been heavily reworked with new C-shaped LED elements and the “JEEP” branding attached to it.
Jeep Compass EV: Expected specs
With the introduction of the new-gen Compass, Jeep will retire the FCA-era platform and move to a more modern STLA Medium architecture. This modular platform is capable of housing a variety of powertrains and underpin models of various shapes. Although Jeep hasn’t revealed any specific details regarding the powertrain specs, we expect the Compass EV to come with two battery options: 73 kWh and 97 kWh. The top-spec dual-motor variant of Compass EV will come with a dual-motor setup.
Jeep Compass EV: Will it come to India?
A few online reports had earlier claimed that Stellantis may not bring the all-new Compass to India, since the project wasn’t viable for the Indian market. However, there has been no official word from Stellantis yet. As of now, India is the production hub of the current-gen Jeep Compass for all right-hand driven markets.
