One of the hottest launches from the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo was from Hero’s stall — the new Xtreme 250R. The motorcycle made its first debut at EICMA last year and now sits at the top of the Xtreme range for Hero MotoCorp. Priced at Rs 1.80 lakh ex-showroom, bookings for the motorcycle will commence next month, followed by deliveries in March. Here’s a more detailed look at the new Hero Xtreme 250R.
Hero Xtreme 250R — What’s new?
In a word, everything. The Hero Xtreme 250R is a brand-new motorcycle and also marks the company’s entry into the 250cc segment. The motorcycle features a sharp design, similar to the Xtreme 160R and the Xtreme 125R. The motorcycle is built around a steel trellis frame and suspended by 43mm USD forks at the front and a six-step pre-load adjustable monoshock at the rear.
The motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels at both ends while also getting disc brakes for the front and rear with dual-channel ABS. The ABS also gets two modes and the motorcycle gets LED lighting all around. Instrumentation consists of an LCD cluster with smartphone connectivity and navigation.
Hero Xtreme 250R — Engine specifications
The engine is also new. The Xtreme 250R is powered by a new 250cc liquid-cooled engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. Hero claims that the Xtreme 250R can accelerate from 0–60kmph in 3.2 seconds, taking the competition directly to its Austrian-Pune competitor, the KTM 250 Duke. Hero also claims that the Xtreme 250R is the fastest in its class in terms of acceleration.
