Hero MotoCorp is gearing up to launch its new flagship 440cc motorcycle on 23 January. Based on the Harley-Davidson X440, the upcoming motorcycle will be Hero’s entry to the middleweight neo-retro segment. The motorcycle was recently spied testing wearing full camouflage.
Ahead of its launch later this month, Hero has shared teaser images of Mavrick 440 which reveal its design partly. The latest sketches partially reveal front and top views of the neo-retro bike. From the outset, the bike visually looks very different from its American counterpart.
Hero Mavrick 440: Design
The Mavrick 440 will also flaunt a neo-retro design with highlights like a circular headlamp, and a rounded fuel tank, clearly visible from the latest teaser images. Other visual highlights confirmed are an H-shaped LED DRL inside the headlamp cluster, tank shroud extension, a chunky grab rail, alloy wheels, an engine sump guard, a single-piece seat, and a side-slung exhaust muffler.

The images also confirms a comfortable and neutral riding posture courtesy of a flat handlebar which is pulled inwards and slightly forward-set footpegs.
Hero Mavrick 440 Powertrain & specs
Powering Mavrick 440 is the same 440cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled, two-valve, SOHC engine as the Harley Davidson X440. This motor pushes out 27 bhp and 38 Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
Underpinnings will also be borrowed from its American cousin. Suspension setup is likely to feature 43mm KYB USD telescopic front forks and dual shock absorbers at the rear. Braking duties will be carried out by 320mm front and 240mm rear disc brakes aided by a dual-channel ABS. We also expect Hero to offer features like TFT instrument panel, Bluetooth connectivity, location alerts, etc.
