Hero MotoCorp is gearing up for a big reveal at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in January, where it’s expected to showcase a host of new motorcycles. However, ahead of the highly anticipated launch, the two-wheeler giant has decided to streamline its portfolio by discontinuing three models: the Passion XTEC, Xtreme 200S 4V, and Xpulse 200T 4V.
What’s particularly intriguing is the removal of two 200cc motorcycles from its lineup, raising questions about the future of the Xpulse 200 4V. Does this signal trouble for the popular adventure bike? Only time will tell.
Bid Adieu: Xtreme 200S 4V, Xpluse 200T 4V
Hero has officially shelved both the Xtreme 200S 4V and Xpulse 200T 4V, hinting that the existing platform may soon be replaced by a more powerful 210cc liquid-cooled engine. Currently, this 210cc engine is featured in the Karizma, where it delivers 25.1 bhp and 20.4 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch.
In contrast, the discontinued 199cc air-oil cooled single-cylinder engine produced 19 bhp and 17.35 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
RIP Passion XTEC
In the commuter segment, Hero has decided to discontinue the Passion XTEC, which was offered in two variants: one with front drum brakes and the other with front disc brakes. The Passion XTEC was powered by a 113.2cc single-cylinder engine paired with a 4-speed gearbox, delivering 9 bhp and 9.79 Nm of torque. This budget-friendly motorcycle also featured an LCD rider’s console with Bluetooth connectivity, allowing it to send call and SMS alerts to the rider.
