Harley-Davidson’s most affordable motorcycle, the X440 is seeing a discount of Rs 15,000 for a limited time period. The Harley-Davison X440 Vivid variant is now listed for Rs 2.45 lakh, ex-showroom. The Rs 15,000 discount on the mid-spec variant is valid till August 15.
Harley-Davidson discount — Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 effect?
The launch of the Harley-Davidson X440 marked the start of sub-500cc motorcycles getting affordable. The Harley was followed by the Triumph Speed 400 launch and then followed by the Scrambler 400 X, all under Rs 3 lakh. Another competition for the Harley X440 is its own sibling from Hero MotoCorp, the Maverik 440.
However, the biggest competition comes from a name older than Harley-Davidson — Royal Enfield. The Chennai-based company launched the Guerrilla 450 a few days ago and its price tag of Rs 2.38 lakh not only undercuts the X440 but offers more in terms of performance.
The Harley-Davidson X440 uses a 440cc, single-cylinder air and oil-cooled engine that makes 27bhp. At the same time, all its competitors make more. The Speed 400 makes 40bhp with a more sophisticated liquid-cooled engine, while the Royal Enfield Guerrilla also makes 40bhp with a liquid-cooled engine.
