The FY 2025-2026 is the year of electric vehicles and the industry will see many new two-wheeler scooters entering the market. There will also be some legacy companies like Yamaha and Suzuki making their debut in the EV sector. Hero MotoCorp and Bajaj Auto are further ramping up their all-electric Vida lineup with a more affordable vehicle. Here are the top four electric vehicles that will soon make their debut this financial year.
Suzuki e-Access
Suzuki showcased the e-Access at the Bharat Global Mobility 2025 earlier this year in New Delhi. This is the Japanese two-wheeler company’s first electric vehicle. The e-Access is set to make its debut in June, this month. It is powered by a 3.07 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery offering a claimed IDC range of 95 km with an energy consumption of 39 Wh/km. It gets a 4.1 kW electric motor producing 15 Nm torque, enabling a top speed of 71 kmph.
Hero Vida VX2
Hero MotoCorp has confirmed the launch of the new Vida VX2 on July 1. It is going to be a budget-friendly series and is expected to be priced below the current lineup. The Vida VX2 could be available in three variants — Lite, Plus and Pro. The new electric scooter could come in three battery packs — 2.2 kWh, 3.4 kWh and 3.9 kWh.
Yamaha RY01
Yamaha is expected to launch its first electric scooter by the end of the year. The Japanese two-wheeler company’s partnership with River Indie was recently spied near River’s factory in Bengaluru. Codenamed RY01, it is expected to be powered by a 4 kWh battery with a range of 161 km on a single charge (IDC certified). This battery sends power to a 6.7 kW (around 9 bhp) PMSM electric motor. We expect this scooter to be priced competitively yet over Rs 1 lakh, ex-showroom.
New budget-friendly Bajaj
Bajaj Auto revealed that the company will soon launch an updated version of the entry-level Chetak 2903. The new electric scooter is expected to make its debut in June. Currently, the Chetak 2903 is powered by a 2.9 kWh battery with a range of 123 km. It charges to 100% in 4 hours and has a top speed of 63 kmph. The new updated version is expected to be equipped with the 35 Series battery, the 3.5 kWh battery with a range of 153 km.
