Yamaha had plenty of models to showcase at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Even though many of these models aren’t slated to go on sale in India, they reminded biking enthusiasts, especially millennials, of the level of engineering and innovation that the Japanese bikemaker is capable of.
Here’s a look at top 5 models showcased by Yamaha at the annual motoring exhibition.
Yamaha YZR M1
The flagship YZR M1 took centre stage at Yamaha’s pavilion in Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. Carrying a legacy of over 500 podium finishes and championship victories in Moto GP, the M1 is Yamaha’s crown jewel when it comes to motorsports. Yamaha is also offering sneak peek into the Moto GP riding gear of Fabio Quartararo and Alex Reins, including authentic racing suits, helmets, and gloves.

Yamaha R7
There have been talks of Yamaha bringing the R7 to India sometime in the future. The middleweight sports bike was displayed once again at the Expo this year and this time the company is eyeing a market launch for the R7 in India around the middle of this year. Based on the acclaimed CP2 platform, the R7 will be powered by a 689cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which dishes out 72.4 bhp at 8,750 rpm and a peak torque of 67 Nm at 6,500rpm.

Yamaha MT-09
Yamaha already retails the MT-15 and MT-03 in the country and the MT-09 could be the next naked streetfighter in line. Like the R7, the MT-09 could hit the Indian roads later this year as a fully-imported CBU. Powering the MT-09 is an 890cc, 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 117 bhp and 93 Nm of peak torque. This unit is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with the provision of a bi-directional quickshifter.

Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid
The biggest highlight at the Yamaha pavilion had to be the country’s first hybrid motorcycle– the 2025 FZ-S Fi. In the upcoming iteration, the FZ-S Fi gains a hybrid technology featuring a including the Smart Motor Generator (SMG) with stop/start functionality. The SMG recharges the battery and provides a mild torque boost to the engine for quicker acceleration.

This feature is already on offer with the Fascino. This technology also adds a silent ignition system to the bike. Yamaha is expected to launch the new FZ-S Fi in India soon, sometime later this year.
Yamaha Tenere 700
Yamaha also took the opportunity to showcase the Tenere 700 at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. The Japanese bikemaker has no history of a proper adventure tourer in India and the Tenere 700 could bring in a change for Yamaha. The Tenere 700 is powered by the same 689cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the R7 which dishes out 72.4 bhp at 8,750 rpm and a peak torque of 67 Nm at 6,500 rpm.
