Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has officially discontinued the CD 110 Dream, marking the end of one of its most affordable entry-level commuter motorcycles. While this move might seem like a retreat from the commuter segment, HMSI isn’t exiting the category as it continues to sell the Shine 100. Instead, the decision reflects the CD 110 Dream’s declining sales performance, as the bike struggled to gain traction in a highly competitive market. Despite its budget-friendly pricing and practical features, the CD 110 Dream failed to resonate with buyers in recent years, prompting the brand to phase it out of its portfolio.

It was powered by a 109.51 cc air-cooled engine that produced 8.6 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 9.3 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. The motorcycle was mated to a 4-speed gearbox, and the engine was used to comply with the OBD2 emission standards and E20 fuel requirements.

It came with a two-way Engine Start/Stop Switch and Combi-Brake System (CBS) that optimises braking performance by distributing braking force between the front and rear wheels. It rides on silver coloured 5-spoke alloy wheels. It is equipped with a diamond-type frame, telescopic front fork, twin shock absorbers at the rear and drum brakes on both wheels.

The CD 110 Dream had a long 720mm seat integrated with the fuel tank, ensuring ample space for both rider and pillion.. The bike is equipped with a 4Ah maintenance-free (MF) battery,

Honda managed to kill the CD 110 Dream by launching the much more affordable Shine 100. Customers opted for the Shine 100, which was roughly Rs 10,000 cheaper than the CD 110 Dream. The Shine 100 gets a 98.98 cc engine with an output of 5.3 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 8.05 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The Shine 100 comes with 17-inch alloy wheels and gets 130 mm drum brakes in front and 110 mm drum brakes at the rear. The Shine 100 is priced at Rs 61,915, ex-showroom Delhi.
