Ducati has officially discontinued the Scrambler 1100 range globally. The Italian superbike brand has also removed the litre-class scrambler from its India website, suggesting its complete discontinuation across all markets. Ducati hasn’t released any official statement revealing why it has pulled the plug on the Scrambler 1100.
That said, we can assume the reason for putting an end to the Scrambler 1100 is likely due to the aging engine and imposition of stricter Euro 5+ emission norms. The current Scrambler 1100 was first launched in India in 2018, a year after the Scrambler 800 was first launched.
While the Ducati Scrambler 1100 was introduced in 2018, its 1079cc L-twin engine dates back to 2009, when it first powered the original Hypermotard and Monster 1100. For its application in the Scrambler 1100, the engine underwent significant modifications, including the addition of an oil-cooling system, ride-by-wire technology enabling rider modes and safety features, and a comprehensive retuning to align with the Scrambler’s character and meet Euro 4 emission standards.

The last recorded price for the Scrambler 1100 ranged between Rs 13.40 lakh and Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom) which was a little too steep for its segment. It was more a lifestyle product which catered to a niche market. Moreover, performance levels weren’t up to expectations of a litre-class bike.
