Ducati has opened bookings for the upcoming SuperSport and Supersport S motorcycles. Now if you missed the unveiling at last year’s INERMOT Motorshow, the SuperSport is basically a road going superbike, that is all about rider friendliness. We’ll gloss over the fact that a rider-friendly Ducati is like a lovable sociopath, you suspect there’s something wrong with it but you’re not quite sure what. In case you were wondering the SuperSport S is the go-faster version of the Supersport.
So what is a road going superbike?
We’ll for starters, while it may look like a hardened superbike, the Supersport is set squarely in the direction of a more comfortable and easy handling ride. The Supersport will come equipped with the Ducati Safety Pack (Bosch ABS + Ducati Traction Control) and height-adjustable windscreen. The standard model gets a  fully adjustable 41 mm Marzocchi fork up front and Sachs shock that’s adjustable for spring preload and rebound damping at the rear. The SuperSport S version features fully adjustable Öhlins suspension, the Ducati Quick Shift up/down system and a rear seat cowl.
Below the saddle, the Supersport twins are powered by a  twin-cylinder 937 ccs Testastretta 11° engine which delivers 113 hp of power and 96Nm of torque, 80% of which is available at as low as 3,000 rpm. The motorcycle gets three Riding Modes (Sport, Touring and Urban). Although Ducati hasn’t announced a price yet, we expect it to be to the tune of 10-12 lakh.
