The world’s first CNG motorcycle, the Bajaj Freedom 125, is officially available across the Delhi National Capital Region. Bajaj Auto is hoping to capture the pulse of the commuter segment in this region as it has a strong CNG fuel station network. The company first launched the Freedom 125 on July 5 and the first CNG motorcycle was delivered on July 16 in Pune. According to the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer, it received over 30,000 enquiries in the first week of the launch itself. Starting from Rs 95,000, the Freedom 125 is available in three variants — NG04 Drum, NG04 Drum LED and NG04 Disc LED.
Bajaj Freedom 125: Specifications and Mileage
The Freedom 125 CNG comes with a 125cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine with an output of 9.4 bhp at 8,000 and 9.7 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The CNG motorcycle has a 2-litre fuel tank and a 2-litre CNG tank. According to Bajaj, in CNG mode, the motorcycle offers a range of 200 km while in petrol mode, it returns a range of 130 km.
Bajaj Freedom 125: Hardware
The Freedom 125 is the first motorcycle in this segment to be based on a trellis frame. This frame offers rigidity and comes along with front telescopic forks and mono-shock rear suspension. The front 17-inch tyre gets a 240mm disc brake while the rear 16-inch comes with either drum or 130mm disc brake based on the variant. The Freedom 125 CNG has a wheelbase
of 1,340mm, a seat height of 825mm and a ground clearance of 170mm.
