Since the launch of Bajaj Auto’s Freedom 125, the world’s first CNG motorcycle, it has made significant waves in the two-wheeler market. With prices starting at Rs 95,000, the CNG motorcycle comes in three variants. Bajaj has now opened bookings for the Freedom 125 for a token amount of Rs 1,000. Currently, the CNG motorcycle is available in select cities including Mumbai, Pune, and certain cities in Gujarat.
Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG: Waiting period
The Freedom 125 motorcycle is open for bookings in certain cities, with the shortest waiting time being under a month. A Bikewale report indicates that, depending on the demand and supply of the CNG motorcycle, the waiting period in Mumbai varies from 20 to 30 days. In Pune, it extends from 30 to 45 days, while in Gujarat, it can be further extended from 45 days up to three months.
Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG: Engine and Fuel Economy
The Freedom 125 is powered by a 124.58 cc engine that produces 9.3 bhp and 9.7 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle gets a smartly designed dual tank with a capacity of 2 kg in CNG and 2 litres of petrol. According to Bajaj, the Freedom 125 offers a range of 102 km/kg and 200 km, while in petrol mode, the 2-litre has a fuel average of 65 kmpl and a range of 130 km.
