Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG: Variants Explained

The world’s first CNG-powered motorcyle comes in three variants, with prices starting from Rs 95,000. Let’s take a look at the features and hardware for each variant.

Bajaj Auto is looking to disrupt the 125cc commuter segment with the world’s first CNG-powered motorcycle, the Freedom 125. The CNG motorcycle is priced from Rs 95,000 onwards and is available in three variants — NG04 Drum, NG04 Drum LED and NG04 Disc LED. All three are powered by a 124.58 cc with an output of 9.3 bhp and 9.7 Nm of torque and mated to a 5-speed gearbox. It has a dual tank with a 2 kg capacity for CNG and 2-litre for petrol. According to Bajaj, the Freedom has a top of 90.5 kmph in CNG mode and 93.4 kmph in petrol.

Bajaj Freedom: Disc LED 

We start with Freedom’s top model, which gets an LED headlamp along with LED DRLs. With a digital LCD rider’s console, the Freedom lets you connect your mobile phone with it, which has a caller ID and sends missed call alerts and battery life information. For convenience, the Disc LED trim is equipped with a USB port to charge your devices. It is the only version to get a 240 mm front disc brake and 130 mm rear drum brake with Combined Brake System (CBS). The front tyre is 90/80 with 17-inch alloy wheel and the rear is 120/70 16-inch alloys. It also comes with a plastic and metal underbody plate.

Bajaj Freedom: Drum LED 

The mid-variant Freedom sports an LED headlight with LED DRLs. It gets an all-digital instrument cluster though it doesn’t offer a connectivity option. This trim retains the same tyre size as the top variant but comes with 130 mm drum brakes in front. The rear sticks to a 130 mm drum brake with CBS. It also gets a plastic and metal dash plate for underbody protection.

Bajaj Freedom: Drum 

The entry-level Freedom is equipped with a 130 mm front drum brake and a smaller 110 mm rear with CBS. It comes with 80/90 tyre profile in front with 17-inch wheels and 80/100 tyre with 16-inch wheels in the rear. This version misses out on the tank cover flap and gets a metal underbody plate.
