Bajaj has launched the most affordable electric scooter in the Chetak range. The new 3503 variant, priced at Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom), sits below the 3501 and 3502 variants of the updated Chetak 35 Series which was launched in December 2024. This makes it almost Rs. 20,000 cheaper than the 3501 variant.
As expected, Bajaj has cut down on some of the features to make it more affordable. However, specification of the electric scooter remains unchanged. The new-gen Chetak 35 Series helped boost sales for the Chakan-based two-wheeler manufacturer and became the highest-selling electric two-wheeler in March.
Bajaj Chetak 3503: What’s different?
The Chetak 3503 misses out on a few features. For instance, it gets a basic LCD instrument panel with Bluetooth connectivity but doesn’t offer turn-by-turn navigation. It also misses out on sequential turn indicators. Although the Chetak 3503 shares the same 3.5 kWh battery pack as the other two variants with the same range of 151 km on a single charge. However, its top speed is significantly lower at 63 kmph.
On top of this, the battery takes longer to charge. The other variants take 3 hours whereas the 3503 takes 3 hours 25 minutes to get fully charged. Lastly, the 3503 gets a drum brake up front instead of a disc brake as seen in the other two variants. That said, the Chetak 3503 retains some of the novel features such as two riding modes (Eco and Sports), hill-hold assist.
The new variant also gets the same metal body architecture as the other two variants. The Chetak 3503 is available in four colour options: Indigo Blue, Brooklyn Black, Cyber White, and Matt Grey. Bookings for the electric scooter have already commenced on its official website, and deliveries are expected to start from May first week.
