2025 Triumph Scrambler 400XC spied: What to expect?

The Triumph Scrambler 400XC will sit on top of the Scrambler 400X at a premium of around Rs 15,000–20,000 over the latter.

Triumph is planning on expanding its 400cc range with derivatives of the current set of models. The company launched the Speed T4 last year, a more accessible version of the Speed 400. A cafe racer based on the same platform has been spied on multiple occasions over the past one year.

Besides this, the British bikemaker is also preparing to add a new scrambler to the lineup. This new scrambler is likely to be a more focussed version of the existing Scrambler 400X. Expected to be called Scrambler 400XC, this motorcycle was spotted in the UK  a couple of months ago. A test mule of the same was recently caught on camera on Indian roads.

Triumph Scrambler 400XC: Changes spied

The spy images indicate plenty of subtle yet significant upgrades over the current Scrambler 400X. The most prominent update are tubeless wire-spoke wheels. This makes the Scrambler more convenient in case of a puncture, therefore, the rider doesn’t need to worry of the tyres running flat on a remote location.

Further, the addition of a larger metallic bash plate enhances protection for the engine under belly. Another noticeable change are shorter front and rear fenders which gives them more leverage. In fact, it also gets a front beak like a contemporary adventure bike. A small flyscreen is expected to be a standard offering. Overall, the bike looks a more rugged sibling of the existing Scrambler 400X.

Rest of the details are expected to remain identical although we expect more suspension travel at front and rear ends. The Scrambler 400XC will continue to roll on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. We hope Triumph offers sintered brake pads in the upcoming bike instead of the organic ones like those employed in the 400X in order to avoid excessive brake fade.

Triumph Scrambler 400XC: Expected powertrain & features

The Scrambler 400XC will draw power from the same 398cc, liquid-cooled motor that makes 39.5 bhp and 37.5Nm of peak torque. The motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox via a slip and assist clutch. Features like switchable rear (off-road) ABS and traction control should be carried over from the Scrambler 400X. We also hope Triumph kits the Scrambler 400XC with a bi-drectionnal quickshifter, at least as an option.
