Tata Motors has officially showcased the first teaser of the upcoming 2025 Altroz ahead of its launch. The hatchback will break cover on May 22. The teaser reveals the new exterior design, new features and spruced-up cabin. This is going to be the Altroz’s first major update since it made its debut in 2020. Here’s all you need to know.
2025 Tata Altroz: Exteriors
Tata Motors has tweaked the front fascia of the updated Altroz with all-new LED lights. The Altroz continues to sport the split headlight design, but the lights cluster are completely redone with a twin-pod layout and an LED DRL streak above it. The bumper has been revised with new vertical slats with tall-positioned log lamps.
The Altroz was always a sporty-looking hatchback, and it continues to do so, especially from the side view. It gets new alloy wheels and is now equipped with new flush door handles, a first in this segment. Moving on to the rear, the tail lights are revised and sport connected LED lights. Tata Motors will continue to offer this premium hatchback in dual-tone colours.

2025 Tata Altroz: Interiors
The official teaser does not show the cabin, but Tata Motors is expected to make it more premium with new panels and upholstery. The 10.25-inch infotainment system, which is only available in the Altroz Race edition, will now make its way to the standard lineup. Apart from this, it will come with new features like a 360-degree camera and a new digital driver’s console.
2025 Tata Altroz: Powertrain Options
The Altroz is the only hatchback in the market to offer multiple powertrain options, starting with the 85 bhp 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine that has 113 Nm and is mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic. The top-of-the-line Altroz Racer is packed with a 118bhp 1.2-litre turbo petrol motor under the hood with a 6-speed manual. The CNG version churns out 72.4 bhp and 103 Nm of torque, and the 1.5-litre diesel makes 89 bhp and 200 Nm. Both trims come standard with a 5-speed manual transmission.
2025 Tata Altroz: Competition Check
The Altroz squares off against the segment leader Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza and the Hyundai i20. The Tata hatchback is the only vehicle in its class to offer a diesel trim.
