The Xtreme 160R 4V is longer, wider and marginally taller than the Pulsar N160. That said, the latter offers a longer wheelbase which should ideally translate to better straight line stability. The Xtreme offers a slightly more accessible seat height of 795mm although Bajaj offers a higher ground clearance of 180mm. The Xtreme 160R 4V weighs 145 kg (kerb) making it 7 kilos lighter than the Pulsar N160.

Both motorcycles are decently equipped with features like an LED headlamp, a fully-digital LCD instrument panel, USB charging port, and Bluetooth connectivity with calls and text alerts common in both bikes. The console on the Xtreme is slightly more advanced with the latest update adding a Drag Timer function with two modes, recording both 0-60 kmph acceleration and quarter-mile timing. On the other hand, Pulsar N160 offers the additional benefit of turn-by-turn navigation.

The Xtreme 160 4V comes standard with disc brakes — 276 mm in front and 220 mm in the rear. It is also equipped with 37 mm KYB USD front forks and a 7-step adjustable mono-shock rear suspension. It rides on 17-inch wheels with a 100/80 front section and 130/70 section at the rear. After the latest update, the Xtreme 160R 4V comes with dual-channel ABS as standard.
Bajaj offers the Pulsar N160 with 37mm telescopic front forks and a Monoshock with Nitrox along with a 300mm front and a 230mm rear disc brakes. Dual-channel ABS is now standard. Like the Xtreme, the Pulsar N160 also rides on 17-inch wheels with a 100/80 front section and 130/70 section at the rear.

Engine displacement of both motorcycles are almost identical. However, the Xtreme 160R 4V churns out slightly more power than the Pulsar N160, on account of having a 4-valve cylinder head as opposed to a 2-valve unit in the latter. Peak torque again is almost identical. Both bikes utilise a 5-speed gearbox.

The 2024 Hero Xtreme 160 4V is available in only a single trim which comes in two variants. The standard is Rs 1.38 lakh while the Kevlar Brown costs Rs 1.39 lakh.
