Bajaj Auto has just announced the launch of its 2018 Avenger range in India. The two motorcycles, Bajaj Avenger Street 220 and Cruise 220 have been launched at the same price at Rs 92,954 (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). The two bikes were unveiled for the first time during the launch of 2018 Bajaj Discover range a few days back. The new 2018 Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 and Street 220 get some styling changes with added features. One of the prime updates on the new 2018 Bajaj Avenger Street 220 and Cruise 220 is the all-digital instrument cluster in comparison to the analogue unit that used to come in the outgoing models. Another highlight of the new Bajaj Avengers is the integration of LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights). The new 2018 Bajaj Avenger Street 220 and Cruise 220 source power from the same 220cc, single cylinder, oil-cooled engine that used to run the previous models. The engine is mated to a five-speed transmission and produces a maximum power output of 19 hp along with a peak torque of 17.5 Nm.
The two motorcycles get a 260mm disc brake up front along with a 130mm drum brake at the rear. The new Avenger Street 220 and Cruise 220 get a revised tail section that looks significantly different than the previous model. The windscreen on the new Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 has also been redesigned, which is a welcome change. Even the headlamp on the two motorcycles see some revision in terms of the shape and it is no longer the old rounded unit.
