Tata Motors to supply Tigor EVs to Wise Travel India’s fleet in New Delhi

Tata Motors has signed an MoU with Wise Travel India (WTi) to supply Tigor EVs for the B2B people transportation company’s New Delhi fleet. WTi is a fast growing in People Ground Transportation space catering to B2B customers. It will deploy Tigor EVs in its fleet in Delhi, enhancing its services by incorporating sustainability. The first batch of Tigor EVs was handed over by the Tata Motors team to Wise Travel India officials, at Concorde Motors, Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi.

“We are delighted to partner with WTi on their pragmatic initiative of inducting zero-emission vehicles in their fleet,” Shailesh Chandra, President – Electric Mobility Business and Corporate Strategy, Tata Motors, said.

“The Tigor EV, recently awarded as the ‘Electric Car of the Year’ by Assocham India’, will join Wise Travel India’s existing fleet of cars. Tata Motors will continue to work towards bringing aspirational e-mobility solutions for customers, leading the drive towards faster adoption of electric vehicles in the country.”

Tata Motors may not have any EVs on sale for the public but has been strategising the integration of their electrical-powered Tigor incrementally, through various other channels. The first batch, as part of the government tender for 10,000 Indian Made Electric Cars, are still being delivered to government agencies.

The home-grown auto giant announced another tie-late last year up with self-drive rental car firm Zoomcar to offer the electric version of its compact sedan Tigor in Pune city as part of the shared mobility plans. Under this partnership, Zoomcar expects to deploy 500 electric vehicles in over 20 cities this year. Also, in January Tata Motors announced its collaboration with technology giant Capgemini for supplying the company with Tigor EVs.
