Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed his condolences over the death of Indian industrial titan Ratan Tata, highlighting the profound contributions Tata made to strengthening Israel-India relations. The former chairman of the Tata Group, Ratan Tata, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 86, leaving behind a legacy of global impact in business and philanthropy.

In a heartfelt message posted on X (formerly Twitter) addressed to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Netanyahu underscored Tata’s role in fostering ties between Israel and India. “To my friend, Prime Minister @narendramodi. I and many in Israel mourn the loss of Ratan Naval Tata, a proud son of India and a champion of the friendship between our two countries,” Netanyahu wrote. The Israeli leader’s message conveyed the admiration and respect Ratan Tata commanded not only in India but also in Israel, where his efforts to bridge diplomatic and business ties were deeply valued.

Netanyahu requested Prime Minister Modi to convey his heartfelt condolences to Tata’s family, concluding his post with a personal note: “In sympathy, Benjamin Netanyahu.”

The condolences have poured in from leaders worldwide, recognising Ratan Tata’s global stature and contributions. On Thursday, Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong paid tribute to Tata, remembering him as a true friend of Singapore, who helped strengthen bilateral relations.

French President Emmanuel Macron also expressed his condolences on Friday, highlighting Tata’s contributions to innovation and manufacturing. Macron also acknowledged Tata’s role in deepening industrial cooperation between India and France, a testament to Tata’s broad vision that transcended national borders.

The global outpouring of grief reflects the immense influence Ratan Tata had, not only as a leader of one of India’s largest business conglomerates but as a bridge-builder between nations, including Israel, Singapore, and France, fostering a spirit of collaboration and friendship.
