IPL Auction 2025 Highlights Day 2 bidding Today: South African pacer Kwena Maphaka was snapped up by Rajasthan Royals (RR) for Rs 1.5 crore during the IPL mega auction held in Jeddah on Monday. Maphaka, the leading wicket-taker in the ICC U19 World Cup 2024 with 21 wickets in six matches, had a brief stint with Mumbai Indians last season but managed just one wicket in two matches while conceding 89 runs.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) competed fiercely for the young pacer, but it was the inaugural IPL champions who ultimately secured his services. Maphaka has also played three T20Is for South Africa, claiming one wicket.
Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans picked Afghanistan’s Karim Janat for Rs 75 lakh. The all-rounder has accumulated 673 runs in 66 T20Is, including three fifties.
