ITC Hotels Share Price Highlights: ITC Hotels makes a smart debut, lists at Rs 188/share on BSE

The shares of the company closed at Rs 178.60 on the BSE, down by 9.40 points. Similarly, ITC Hotels’ shares on the NSE ended at Rs 178.60, down by 6.35 points, or 3.53%.

ITC Hotels has officially become an independent company, following the completion of its demerger from its parent company, ITC, on January 1, 2025. As part of the restructuring, ITC issued more than 125 crore equity shares of ITC Hotels to its shareholders on January 11.

The share price of ITC Hotels extends losses, dropping 4.86% from its listing price on January 29. The stock was quoted at a price of Rs 171.25 on the NSE. It was listed at Rs 180 on the NSE and 188 on the BSE.

In January 2025, the FMCG and tobacco giant ITC separated its hotel division to form a distinct entity called ITC Hotels. This action was perceived as a strategy to unlock value for the hotel business and its shareholders.

According to the most recent data available (October 2024), ITC Hotels has a total of 140 properties in its portfolio. This consists of both owned and managed rooms, with the present ratio of owned to managed rooms at 45:55. They operate 6 different brands.

Jefferies expects the ITC Hotels to see outflows related to ETF selling, “Given ITC is part of key indices, ITC Hotels could see outflows to the tune of $190-200 million (based on stock price) related to ETF selling in the stock. Further, British American Tobacco (BAT) will hold 15% of the demerged Hotel entity (it has 25% stake in ITC earlier). Earlier in October-24, BAT’s mgmt had said that it had no intention for BAT to be shareholders in ITC Hotels in India, and that it intends to sell stake at the right time.”

The share price of ITC Hotels were trading down 2.78% at Rs 175 on the National Stock Exhcange around 12:35 pm. The stock was listed at Rs 180 on the NSE. Earlier, market participants anticipated the listing price of Rs 175 for the stock.

ITC Hotels plans to expand its portfolio to over 200 properties with more than 18,000 keys by 2030. Currently it has 140 properties and manages a total of 13,000 keys.

ITC Hotels lists at Rs 180/share on NSE. The stock is trending higher after debut. However, the listing price is inline with the overall expectation of key market analysts.

According to international brokerage house Nomura, ITC may list anywhere between RS 200-300 per share. They expect the market capitalisation of ITC Hotels to range between Rs 42,500 – 60,000 crore.

On an average, the ITC Hotels share is expected to list anywhere between Rs113- 175/ share. Many analysts have predicted this range. Though the bulk of the predictions hiver in the RS 145-175 per share range.
