UPSC CSE Result 2023 Highlights: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the results of the Civil Services 2023 exam today. Candidates who attended the personality test can view their results on the official websites – upsconline.nic.in and upsc.gov.in. This year, Aditya Srivastava and Animesh Pradhan have bagged All India Rank 1 and 2 respectively, followed by Donuru Ananya Reddy at the third position.
The UPSC Civil Services Examination for 2023 were held on May 28 last year. Successful candidates from the Prelims then partipated in the Mains examination, held on September 15, 16, 17, 23, and 24, 2023, with sessions running from 9 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm. The results for the UPSC CSE Mains were declared on December 8. The interviews or personality tests for the CSE 2023 were conducted in three phases spanning from January 2 to April 9.
The UPSC is looking forward to fill 1,105 positions across various central government services, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS), among others. The UPSC aims to fill 1,105 vacancies across various central government services, including the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, and Indian Foreign Service, among others, through these exams.
In the previous year, 23 candidates who underwent coaching and training at the Residential Coaching Academy (RCA) of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) were selected in the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2022.
– The final merit list will mention the All India Rank (AIR) of all candidates who have successfully passed the examination.
– The list will have candidates’ names arranged in descending order based on their mains score, preliminary score, and personality test score.
– It will also specify the service for which the candidate has been recommended.
The allowed number of attempts in the Civil Services Examination varies by category:
SC/ST: Unlimited attempts allowed
OBC: 9 attempts allowed
PwBD: 9 attempts for GL/EWS/OBC; Unlimited attempts for SC/ST
All others: 6 attempts allowed
The UPSC CSE 2024 prelims are scheduled for June 16. A total of 1,056 vacancies have been announced for CSE 2024, along with 150 vacancies for IFoS.
The UPSC CSE examination consists of three phases: prelims, mains, and interview. The UPSC CSE 2023 prelims examination took place on May 28, 2023, while the CSE mains UPSC exam was conducted from September 15, 2023, spanning five days. Candidates who successfully passed the mains exams proceeded to the interview round, which occurred between January 4 and April 9, 2024.

Over the last two years, women have consistently achieved top positions, with Ishita Kishore claiming AIR 1 in 2022, followed by Garima Lohia, Uma Harathi N, and Smriti Mishra.
Over the years, the female percentage has consistently exceeded 24%. Despite a minor decline, there has been a notable overall increase in recent years:

The UPSC recentle issued the admit cards for the National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination (I) and Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2024, which is available for candidates to download. According to the official notification from UPSC, the National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination (I), 2024, aims to fill 400 positions, while the Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2024, aims to fill 457 positions.
In recent years, there has been a noticeable upward trend in the pass percentage among females. While it remained steady at 24 percent in both 2018 and 2019, it experienced a slight uptick to 29 percent in 2020, only to dip by 3 points to 26 percent in 2021. However, in 2022, there was a notable resurgence, reaching 34 percent. Notably, in the previous year, women comprised over one-third of the 933 candidates (320) recommended for appointment.
