Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL), a provider of test preparatory services, has appointed Deepak Mehrotra to serve as its Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), according to an official release. 

Mehrotra boasts a distinguished career spanning the FMCG, Telecom and Education sectors, amassing more than 35 years of executive experience. His appointment heralds a strategic manoeuvre for AESL, leveraging his expertise to propel the organisation’s mission and capitalise on emerging prospects within the education domain. 

Previously, Mehrotra held the position of managing director at Ashirvad pipes and has held key roles at Pearson India, Bharti Airtel, Coca-Cola and Asian Paints. Educationally, Mehrotra holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Roorkee, an MMS from JBIMS, and has completed an Executive program at The Wharton School, Philadelphia (USA), the release mentioned.

Furthermore, AESL has long been a pioneer in offering comprehensive coaching solutions for students preparing for Medical and Engineering entrance examinations, School/Board exams, and competitive tests like NTSE, KVPY and Olympiads. With a network spanning more than 310 Aakash centres, including franchisees and a student count exceeding 400,000, AESL has solidified its presence in the educational landscape, as per the release.
