Previously, in a statement posted on X, the poll authority confirmed that the dates for both the general elections and certain state assembly elections will be disclosed on Saturday afternoon. During a press conference, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced that the national gender ratio among voters stands at 948. Additionally, he noted that in 12 states and Union Territories, there are more female voters than male voters.
CEC Rajiv Kumar says there are 49.7 crore male voters in this election. On the other hand, there are 47.1 crore female voters. There are 19.74 crore young voters in the age group of 20-29 years.

Today, the Congress Party unveiled five key provisions as part of its ‘Share of Justice Guarantee’ ahead of the announcement of the Lok Sabha 2024 election schedule. These include:
TMC leader Kunal Ghosh on Saturday shared his opinion on the upcoming elections. He said that the BJP, along with the NDA, will not surpass 200 seats and that it will be challenging for the BJP alone to exceed 100 seats. He added that this is why they are attempting to create confusion by claiming they will secure 400 seats.
