The people of Khadoor Sahib have spoken. Jailed Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh has emerged victorious by a margin of over 1,97,000 votes. He got 4,04,430 votes, according to the ECI data.
So far, more than three lakh votes have been polled in favour of Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh in Khadoor Sahib, where he is poised to emerge victorious.
Khalistan leader and Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh is ahead by over 1,30,000 votes with the Congress candidate Kulbir Singh Zira and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Laljit Singh Bhullar trailing far behind.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Congress‘s Jasbir Singh Gill had won the Khadoor Sahib seat. Besides Amritpal Singh and Kulbir Singh Zira, Akali Dal’s Virsa Singh Valtoha and AAP’s Laljit Singh Bhullar are in the contest. While AAP is in the third spot now, the Congress is fourth.
The chief of Waris Punjab de, Amritpal Singh, is currently in prison at Assam‘s Dibrugarh after he was charged under the National Security Act (NSA) last year. The radical preacher had made headlines after a mob attacked a police station in February last year over the arrest of one of his supporters. Amritpal Singh was arrested after a massive crackdown, charged under NSA and moved to Dibrugarh jail.

INC had a vote share of 43.86 per cent in 2019 in this seat.
