Jharkhand Election 2024 Result Highlights: Hemant Soren-led JMM all set for comeback, INDIA bloc wins 55 seats

As the vote counting approaches, JMM spokesperson Manoj Pandey expressed confidence in the party’s victory, stating, “The people of Jharkhand have made their choice clear—‘Iss baar phir Hemant dobara, Hemant Soren returns.’ Women, students, and the citizens of Jharkhand have placed their trust in us, and we deeply value their support. The enthusiasm seen during the campaign and on election day strongly signals that we will secure an absolute majority and return to power.”

The JMM campaigned on its achievements, including better healthcare, education, and rural welfare programs during its tenure. They aim to win voters with their performance.

BJP leader Pratul Shah Deo said, “Dark night that has been persisting for five years will end today. As the Sun will set today, the political Sun of JMM will also set with it. With the rising of Sun, BJP’s Sun will also rise and NDA will make the government with full majority.”

On the other side, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), joined by AJSU and JD(U), is determined to win and form the government. Jharkhand’s legislative assembly has 81 seats, divided as follows: 44 for general candidates, 28 for Scheduled Tribes (ST), and 9 for Scheduled Castes (SC). These seats reflect the region’s diverse population.

According to the Election Commission of India, the counting of votes in Jharkhand will commence by 8 am. The results will decide if the incumbent JMM government will stay for another term or the BJP-led NDA gain hold of the state.

The Jharkhand Assembly elections took place in two stages, with the first phase on November 13 and the second on November 20.
