As the vote counting progresses, Congress leader Ghulam Ahmad Mir, the party candidate from the Dooru constituency, expressed strong confidence in the party’s success in both Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. J&K BJP leader Altaf Thakur says, “We need to wait until 3rd or 4th round, we anticipate that BJP will come out as the single largest party…the way we have recovered Haryana, the same way we will recover in J&K as well and we will form govt in J&K”

Even the President doesn’t have the authority for direct appointments; how can the LG wield such arbitrary power?”
