India General Election 2024 Analysis Highlights: As Narendra Modi looks set to return as the Prime Minister of India for a third consecutive term after as the NDA bagged 293 of the 543 Lok Sabha seats while the INDIA bloc of Opposition parties settled at a final tally of 232. The BJP, however, finished short of the majority mark, winning 241 seats, making the formation of its government dependent on NDA partners TDP and the JD(U) of Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar, respectively. PM Modi on Tuesday claimed a historic mandate for a government that has served two consecutive full terms, INDIA bloc leaders have rushed to Delhi to possibly discuss efforts to form a government.
