Haryana Election Results 2024 Highlights: PM Modi hails victory as BJP returns for historic third term, Congress says results ‘against ground reality’

Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) candidate Abhay Singh Chautala is trailing behind from the Ellenabad constituency as of 11.51 AM. In the seventh round of counting, Bharat Singh Beniwal bagged 39,481 votes and is ahead by over 7,000 votes, as per ECI data.

After an initial trail of lagging behind, Vinesh Phogat has picked up trend in the electoral bout and is leading from the Julana constituency, according to ECI data as of 11.47 AM. She is ahead by 38 votes in Round 7 of counting. She has so far secured 30,303 votes, while BJP candidate Yogesh Kumar has bagged 30,365 votes.

From the Kaithal constituency, Aditya Surjewala, son of Congress leader Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala, is leading by over 4,900 votes. The youngest candidate in Haryana polls this time has so far bagged 29,550 votes, while BJP candidate Leela Ram has secured 24,591 votes, as per ECI.

BJP candidate Mukesh Sharma is leading by over 17,963 votes, while his nearest rival Independent candidate Naveen Goyal is trailing. Sharma has so far bagged 35,903 votes, while Goyal has 17,940 votes in the fourth round of counting.

As per latest ECI trends, BJP candidate Arvind Kumar Sharma is leading by over 9,921 votes from the Gohana constituency in Haryana. Sharma has so far bagged 23,879 votes in fifth round of voting, while Congress candidate Jagbir Singh Malik have secured 13,958 votes so far, according to ECI.

Independent candidate Chitra Sarwara contesting from Ambala Cantonment constituency in Haryana is leading as per latest ECI trends. As of 11.31 AM, she has so far bagged 14,328 votes, while BJP candidate Anil Vij is trailing by over 700 votes.

Congress candidate from Julana and wrestler Vinesh Phogat visited a counting centre in Jind. She is trailing from the constituency by over 3,000 votes.

Chairperson of OP Jindal Group and India‘s richest female businessperson, Savitri Jindal, who is contesting as an Independent candidate from Hisar constituency is leading as per ECI trends at 10.58 AM. She is leading by a margin of 3,836 votes. There are 12 rounds of counting. Jindal has secured 5,525 votes in Round 1, while Ram Niwas Rara is trailing with 1,689 votes.

As per latest ECI trends, Gopal Sukhomajri from Kalka, Chitra Sarwara from Ambala Cantt, Devender Kadyan from Ganaur, Savitri Jindal from Hisar, Rajesh Joon from Bahadurgarh are leading.

BJP: 47 seats, Congress: 36, while five Independents are leading.

As per latest ECI trends, BJP candidate and Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini is leading with 13,354 votes, while Congress candidate Mewa Singh is behind by a margin of 3,070 votes. As per ECI data, Singh has secured 10,284 votes till round 3 out of 16 rounds counting.

From the high-profile Julana constituency, BJP candidate Yogesh Kumar is leading with 14,329 votes, while Vinesh Phogat is behind by a margin of 2,039 votes. As per ECI data, she has so far gotten 12,290 votes.

As of 10.39 AM, the Election Commission of India data shows that BJP is leading in Haryana and has crossed halfway mark. The BJP is leading in 47, and Congress in 35 seats, as per ECI results – https://results.eci.gov.in/.

Kumari Selja, who is one of the frontrunners for the CM post if the Congress comes to power, expresses confidence that the Congress will form government in the state. She added that she is still in the CM race.

As per latest ECI trends, the BJP is now leading and Congress is lagging behind. The BJP is leading in 41 seats, while Congress is leading in 34 seats. This is a big turnaround seen in recent elections. As early trends showed Congress leading, celebrations had started pouring in across all Congress offices.

After Congress took lead in very early trends, as per latest data, the BJP has now taken the lead in a huge turnaround. It is noteworthy that the exit polls had predicted a Congress resurgence in Haryana. As per TV reports, the BJP has crossed the halfway mark as per data available at 9.52 AM.

As per ECI data, BJP is ahead of Congress in the vote count trend. BJP is leading on 35 seats, whereas Congress is currently leading on 29 seats. According to India Today, BJP is ahead in 46 seats, Congress in 41 seats. While according to News18 India, Congress is leading in 38 seats, while BJP in 45 seats.

As per very early trends, BJP leader Anil Vij was leading from his Ambala Cantt seat. Indian National Lok Dal leader Abhay Singh Chautala was leading from his Ellenabad constituency, while Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala’s son Aditya Surjewala was leading from Kaithal seat.

The key contesting parties are the BJP, Congress, AAP, INLD- BSP alliance and JJP-Azad Samaj Party. Prominent candidates among those in fray include Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who is contesting from the Ladwa constituency, Congress veteran and leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who has been nominated from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi seat, INLD’s Abhay Singh Chautala, who is contesting from Ellenabad, JJP’s Dushyant Chautala who is fighting from Uchana Kalan, BJP’s Anil Vij, Captain Abhimanyu as well as Congress candidate from Julana and Olympian wrestler Vinesh Phogat. Chairperson emeritus of the OP Jindal Group Savitri Jindal is contesting as an Independent candidate from the Hisar seat.

The Congress was leading in six seats, as of Election Commission of India data by 9.19 AM. The seats where Congress is leading are: Ambala City, Radaur, Samalkha, Beri, Ferozepur Jhirka, Hathin.

According to Election Commission of India data, the Congress and BJP are in a neck-and-neck contest in Haryana, with the BJP and Congress leading in 3 seats. The polling across 90 assembly constituencies in Haryana took place in single phase on October 5.

Chief Minister and BJP leader Nayab Singh Saini is leading from the Ladwa constituency in Haryana. Counting of votes is underway across the 90 Assembly constituencies. Although exit polls have predicted a Congress resurgence, the BJP leader is hopeful that the saffron party will enjoy a third stint in the state.

As per initial trends, the Congress is still leading. The counting of votes began at 8 AM. As of 8 50 AM, the Congress is leading in 57 seats, BJP in 22 seats, as per News18 India. According to India Today, Congress leading in 53, BJP in 15 seats, while Congress in 58 seats, and BJP in 25 seats, according to Times Now.

Ahead of conting of votes, BJP leader and Haryana Chief Minister said that the saffron party is going to form government with a huge mandate.

“We and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have served Haryana wit utmost honesty in the last 10 years. Exits polls are there, there were exit polls during Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand elections as well. We aren’t questioning exit polls predictions, but results have been different and in Haryana as well the case will be same and the BJP will come into power,” Saini said.

Early trends show Congress taking massive lead in Haryana. These trends are still based on postal ballots and the counting of EVM votes is yet to begin. According to India Today, Congress is leading in 32 seats and BJP in 19 seats. As per Times Now, Congress is leading in 47 seats, BJP in 30 seats, while according to News18 India, Congress is leading in 51, BJP 21 seats.

Very early trends show BJP is trailing. This is in line with exit polls predictions which had predicted a Congress win in Haryana this polls. According to News18 India, the Congress is leading in 46 seats while BJP is ahead in 18 seats. According to India Today, Congress is leading in 25 seats, BJP 21, as per very early trends. Note: These are very early numbers and the trends will be available only after the counting of EVM votes begins.

While the BJP has fielded Mukesh Sharma from the Gurgaon constituency, the Congress has fielded Mohit Grover from the Gurugram constituency. While campaigning, Sharma promised to solve the issues of electricity, water and roads, once he is voted to power. Meanwhile, Grover, a member of the Punjabi community secured the second-highest vote count of around 50,000 as an Independent candidate in the last Assembly elections in 2019.

As per very early trends, the Congress is inching towards crossing the halfway mark, which is 45. Haryana has 90 Assembly constituencies. According to TV reports, Congress is leading in over 35 seats, while the BJP is trailing far behind, leading in 15 seats. These are not the final numbers, and the results for the Haryana elections will start showing up on ECI website soon. For now, it just shows “counting in progress”.
