In the 2014 General Elections, the Hajipur constituency was won by LJP candidate Ram Vilas Paswan, with Congress candidate Sanjeev Prasad Toni as the runner-up.

Chirag Paswan, aged 41, made his electoral debut in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls and won from the Jamui constituency. He retained his seat in the 2019 elections, defeating his nearest rival Bhudeo Choudhary of the RJD.

Chirag Paswan, leader of Lok Janshakti Ram Vilas and son of former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, is leading against RJD’s Shiv Chandra Ram in Bihar‘s Hajipur.

LJP’s Chirag Paswan is leading with 94308 votes which is 30709 votes more than RJD’s Shiv Chandra Ram who stands at 63599 votes

According to the News18 Mega Exit Poll, Chirag Paswan, the leader of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), which is a constituent of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), is poised to secure victory in the Hajipur constituency.

According to the 2011 Census, Scheduled Caste (SC) voters in the Hajipur assembly constituency number approximately 70,868, constituting around 21.11% of the total population.

According to the analysis of the voter list, the number of Muslim voters in the Hajipur assembly constituency is approximately 26,521, making up around 7.9% of the total electorate.

As per the 2011 Census, the number of Scheduled Tribe (ST) voters in the Hajipur assembly constituency is approximately 201, representing about 0.06% of the total population.

The Lok Sabha elections 2024 were conducted in 7 phases and all the states underwent the polling process simultaneously. Voting began on April 19 an d concluded on June 1.

Lok Jan Shakti Party candidate Pashupati Kumar Paras won the seat, securing a total of 541,310 votes. Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Shiv Chandra Ram came in second with 335,861 votes, losing by a margin of 205,449 votes.

The counting of votes for the 18th Lok Sabha elections 2024 has begun at 8 am!

The main parties contesting in Bihar are the NDA alliance, which has seen the BJP and JD(U) reuniting, and the Mahagathbandhan alliance, which includes the RJD and Congress, among others.

The Election Commission of India announced the date for the Lok Sabha elections on March 16 and Bihar went for vote in 7 phases.
