Goa Assembly Election 2022 Exit Poll Results Highlights: Exit Poll numbers released today by the poll agencies predicted a close fight between the BJP and Congress party. The exit polls predicted a hung assembly in the state while giving the key of power to the Independent and regional parties like MGP-TMC. Goa Assembly Elections 2022 have been spiced up by the new entrants from North and East. Arvind Kejriwal led-Aam Aadmi Party and Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress (in alliance with the MGM – Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party) are in the fray as well and they have turned a largely one-on-one fight between the BJP and Congress led-alliance into a multipolar contest. This is the first time the BJP is fighting all 40 seats and also the first time in the absence of charismatic leader Late Manohar Parrikar. The Congress is fighting Goa Assembly elections 2022 in alliance with Goa Forward Party. As most poll pundits are predicting a fractured mandate, hectic parleys are on behind the scene for any post-poll alliance. For the 40 Assembly seats, there were 332 candidates in the fray. Goa voted on February 14 last month. Several restrictions were in place due to the heightened threat of Covid infections due to the Omicron-driven third wave at that time. The official data of the Election Commission says that there are 11.6 lakh voters in Goa.

In 2017 Goa assemble elections, INC was the single largest party with 17 seats followed by BJP at 13, MGP, Independent and GFP 3 each and 1 for NCP.
According to SCDS-Lokniti, nearly two-fifths of Goans waited till the last minute before taking a final call on who they were going to vote for in 2017.
In 2017 BJP's Manohar Parrikar defeated his Congress rival. After Parrikar's demise, Congress gained the seat in by-election held in 2019. Congress Party's Atanasio Monserrate defeated BJP's Sidharth Kuncalienker. Now Atanasio Monserrate has joined the BJP and denied ticket to Manohar Parrikar's son Utpal Parrikar from Panaji who decided to leave the party and fight as independent. They are locked in contest with AAP's Valmiki Naik, INC's Elvis Gomes and RGP's Rajesh Redkar.
Goa is witnessing a multipolar contest among 5 alliances. These are BJP, which is fighting alone, Congress-led alliance with GFP, AAP with an independent, TMC with MGP and Shivsena-NCP allaince.
In this Assembly Elections 2022, North Goa reported slightly polled higher (81.15%) than South Goa (78.27%).
Goa voted to elect 40 members of Legislative Assembly on February 14. Goans trned out in large number to vote and its overall voting percent was 79.61%. It was slightly lower than 2017 elections when Goa recorded a higher turnout as 81.21%.
The voting for the Goa assembly polls were be held on the Valentine's day i.e., February 14. The election took place in single only for all 40 seats.
