Assembly Elections Exit Poll Results 2023 Highlights: The exit poll predictions for the Assembly elections 2023 held in 5 states – Telangana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram are being declared on Thursday. Most exit polls have predicted a close contest in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Telangana while Mizoram appears to be heading towards a high Assembly. According to the IndiaToday MyAxis survey, the Bharatiya Janata Party is likely to face an upset in Rajasthan while 4 other surveys have predicted a win for the BJP. The Congress is seen ahead in Telangana Chhattisgarh although the contest may be too close to call. Most exit polls so far have drawn a level playing field, suggesting that the results may be too close to call for either side in any state.

Voting is currently underway in 119 seats across Telangana where the Congress and BRS are locked in a tight contest. The voting is scheduled to end at 5 PM. As per the Election Commission of India, exit poll findings cannot be revealed till polling has concluded in all seats.

Much is at stake for the ruling BJP at the Centre in the elections. The BJP, which draws a majority of its strength from the Hindi heartland, lost Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan to Congress, and will be looking to reverse its fortunes in these states. Despite its loss in Karnataka — where the BJP decided against naming a CM face — the party has decided to adopt the same formula in the five poll-bound states. One will need to wait and watch if the strategy pays off or adds to BJP’s woes ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
