BJP to form the government in the national capital after 27 years as it gets 48 seats out of the total 70 seats in Delhi; AAP wins 22 seats.

Assembly Speaker and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr.Raman Singh on Saturday expressed gratitude to all BJP workers for their efforts and said the people of Delhi have rejected the politics of lies and deceit. He also lauded the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for securing a historic victory in the Delhi Assembly elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is present at BJP headquarters for the victory speech. Home Minister Amit Shah, Party chief JP Nadda, Delhi party chief Virendra Sachdeva and thousands of BJP workers are present at the event.

Congress spokesperson Pawan Kheda commented on the Delhi results; “The meltdown of a section of so called liberals is completely bizarre. They didn’t give these lectures on opposition unity to AAP when the party went to Goa, Gujarat, Haryana etc to fight elections and weaken anti communal, secular vote. Delhi election result is a rejection of the Trojan horse that attempted to damage the liberal cause across the country. Majority of liberals are rightly cheering the fall of the facade so that the real champion of liberal values – the Indian National Congress – can emerge stronger to take the BJP on and defeat it. “

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis said, “‘Ek hain to safe hain’ worked in Delhi as it was accepted in the entire country, the country united on this call. This result was seen in Haryana, Maharashtra, Delhi, and it will also be seen in other states in the coming times.”

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu congratulated PM Modi, saying the people of the national capital had placed their trust in him. Speaking at a press conference, Naidu criticised the AAP government, alleging that Delhi had turned into a city of garbage and was severely polluted.

“After 27 years, the people of Delhi have elected a BJP government. This is a historic triumph, as the victory belongs not just to the BJP or the people of Delhi, but to the self-respect of the entire nation. Narendra Modi is building a sustainable model for the country. I wholeheartedly commend him. Today’s victory in Delhi is a reflection of the people’s confidence in him,” he said.

BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said AAP’s “deception drive” that started from Jantar Mantar has ended in “choo-mantar (vanishing)” in Delhi elections.

The former Union minister said the Delhi Assembly election result reflects that “kushasan (misgovernance)” is trumped by “sushasan (good governance).”

“The Aam Aadmi Party‘s deception drive that started from Jantar Mantar has ended up ‘choo-mantar (vanished)’ in Delhi elections,” he said.

He also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi demolished the deceit of communal polarisation with the strength of inclusive empowerment.

“That is why all sections of the society in Delhi voted for the BJP and the BJP government will be formed with a huge majority in the national capital,” Naqvi told reporters. (PTI)

BJP candidate Mohan Singh Bisht won the Mustafabad seat by 17,578 votes, while his colleague Kapil Mishra secured victory in Karawal Nagar with a margin of 23,355 votes.

AAP’s Virender Singh Kadian won the Delhi Cantt seat by 2,029 votes while Kuldeep Kumar defeated his closest rival by a margin of 6,293 in Kondli.

The Kejriwal-led party’s Sahi Ram won from Tughlakabad by 14,711 votes, Mukesh Ahlawat from Sultanpur Majra by 17,126 votes, Jarnail Singh from Tilak Nagar by 11,656 votes, and Imran Hussain from Ballimaran by 29,823 votes.

BJP’s Rekha Gupta won the Shalimar Bagh seat, defeating her AAP rival by 29,595 votes, while Manjinder Singh Sirsa emerged victorious from Rajouri Garden by 18,190 votes.

Tilak Ram Gupta won the Tri Nagar seat by 15,896 votes, Umang Bajaj from Rajinder Nagar by 1,231 votes, and Chandan Kumar Choudhary from Sangam Vihar by 344 votes.

BJP leaders Parvesh Verma and Manjinder Singh Sirsa visit Gurdwara Bangla Sahib to offer prayers and seek blessings after the party’s win. The BJP won the Delhi elections 2025.

In a video message, Manish Sisodia said, “I heartily thank the people of Delhi, who gave me the opportunity to serve them for 12 years and shape the future of their children. If the education system needs to be improved, then politics is the only way to do it. That is why I have dedicated my life to education and will continue to work for it in the future too.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, BJP national president JP Nadda have reached the BJP headquarters in Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be delivering a victory speech shortly. As per ECI data at 5 30 PM, the BJP won 43 seats, and was leading in five more seats, while the AAP secured 21 seats and was leading in one.

BJP‘s Parvesh Verma, who defeated former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal from the New Delhi constituency, said the party’s leadership will decide the next chief minister of Delhi.

Parvesh Verma, former Delhi CM Sahib Singh Verma’s son, said, “This is not just my victory, this is the victory of the people of Delhi, who chose truth over lies, governance over gimmicks, and development over deception. I humbly thank every voter who placed their trust in me.

“Under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP national president JP Nadda, we will work tirelessly to bring a real change in Delhi. This mandate is a clear message that people want honest, transparent, and development-driven politics. My commitment to serve with integrity and dedication remains unwavering,” Verma said.

Verma, former MP of West Delhi constituency, further said that a “new chapter began for Delhi” and together, “we will build a brighter future.”

Verma alleged that Kejriwal did not work in Delhi in last 11 years.

“All the work was on paper and advertisements. The people of Delhi have shown their faith in Modi. This is the win of Modi’s work he has done in Delhi and country. I thank Nadda, Shah and the party leadership which brought a good manifesto. The priority would be cleaning the Yamuna river, pollution level in Delhi, giving employment, removing traffic congestion, work in villages as well as colonies etc,” he added. (PTI)

From the Ballimaran seat, AAP candidate Imran Hussain won defeating his nearest rival Kamal Bagri of the BJP by over 29,000 votes. Congress‘ Haroon Yusuf finished third.

“The party leadership will decide whether the new BJP Chief Minister will reside in Sheesh Mahal. However, one thing is certain, I will convey to the leadership that we should not accept this residence,” Parvesh Verma on ‘Sheesh Mahal’.

AAP candidate Amanatullah Khan is leading from the Okhla constituency by a margin of over 26,000 votes in round 21 of counting.

“I would like to thank the people for supporting me, and I will fulfil the promises that I’ve made. However, I am saddened because of Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia’s loss,” Khan said.
