Chandigarh Lok Sabha Election 2024 Results Live Updates: The Union Territory of Chandigarh voted in the final phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 along with seven other states on June 1. Chandigarh has been a battleground between the BJP and Congress with the last two elections won by BJP’s candidate Kirron Kher. For the 2024 general polls, however, BJP former Chandigarh unit party president Sanjay Tandon and Congress fielded Manish Tewari. Notably, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress are contesting the Lok Sabha seat together under the INDIA bloc.

The Union Territory of Chandigarh voted in the final phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 on June 1, alongside seven other states.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Kher defeated Congress candidate Pawan Bansal by nearly 70,000 votes. In 2019, Kher won again with 231,188 votes to Bansal’s 184,218, a margin of 46,970 votes. Before Kher, Bansal served as Chandigarh’s MP for Congress, winning three consecutive terms from 1999 to 2014. Congress had a stronghold in the constituency with four victories before Kher’s tenure.
