The CBI has arrested Uday Kumar, a senior General Manager at Power Grid Corporation of India, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2.5 lakh from an executive of KEC International, PTI reported on Friday.
Kumar, who was posted in Ajmer, Rajasthan, was taken into custody on Thursday along with Suman Singh, an executive from KEC International. The two were allegedly planning to carry out the exchange in Sikar, officials said.
The FIR names five individuals and KEC International as accused in the case. Among those mentioned is Jabraj Singh, the vice-president and North India head of KEC International.
As of now, KEC International has not issued a statement regarding the allegations. The investigation is ongoing.
