PM Modi to lay foundation of cricket stadium, inaugurate Atal Awasiya Vidyalayas

On Saturday, September 23, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Varanasi to lay the foundation for an international cricket stadium. Additionally, he will open 16 Atal Awasiya Vidyalayas that were constructed in Uttar Pradesh at a cost of roughly Rs 1,115 crore. Throughout his visit, which will last a whole day, PM Modi will also take part in the Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahotsav 2023’s closing ceremony.

The US East Coast is under a tropical storm warning with landfall forecast in North Carolina

A storm moving closer to the US East Coast will deliver tropical storm conditions to North Carolina on Friday before making landfall on Saturday, the National Hurricane Center said. The storm was off the coast of South Carolina and North Carolina with top sustained winds of 50 mph (85 kph). A storm surge watch was in effect, with surges between 3 and 5 feet (0.9 to 1.5 metres) forecast for parts of North Carolina, the centre reported. (AP)

Farmers protest across Punjab to demand compensation for losses caused by floods

On Friday, farmers throughout Punjab conducted dharnas to demand fair compensation for losses incurred as a result of the recent floods. In Amritsar, farmers gathered in response to a request from the Samyukt Kisan Morcha, and they organized a protest in front of the deputy commissioner’s office to demand just compensation.

Blinkit partners with Unicorn APR to deliver iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus

Fire at mall in Mumbai’s Jogeshwari

A massive fire was reported from a mall in Mumbai’s Jogeshwari area on Friday. The blaze was reported at around 3:15 pm, the officials say. While initial reports say that there were some people trapped inside the mall, the BMC officials later clarified that everyone has been evacuated. Latest reports say that the blaze has been doused and the cooling operation is underway.

MotoGP: India’s distorted map broadcast live, J-K, Ladakh missing

A purportedly distorted map of India – with Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh missing from it – was broadcast during a live stream of the MotoGP, the biggest motorcycle race event at the Buddh International Circuit in Great Noida on Friday. UK says grounds to clear Microsoft’s Activision deal

Britain’s antitrust regulator on Friday said there were grounds to clear Microsoft’s $69 billion acquisition of Call of Duty owner Activision Blizzard. “The CMA now gives notice … to the Parties that it considers that there are reasonable grounds for believing that the undertakings offered, or a modified version of them, might be accepted by the CMA … and that it is considering the offer,” the CMA said in a document published by the British government. Zelenskiy visits Canada, set to address parliament

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy is on an unannounced visit to Canada where he will meet Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and address the Canadian parliament in Ottawa, Trudeau’s office said in a statement late on Thursday, after Zelenskiy’s US visit wrapped up. “The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today announced that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, will visit Canada, from September 21 to 22, 2023,” Trudeau’s office said. Zelenskiy was in Washington on Thursday where he met US lawmakers and President Joe Biden, a day after addressing the U.N.
