PM Modi arrives in Kerala, to inaugurate development projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday arrived in Kerala where he received a warm welcome by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Governor Arif Muhammad Khan at the Nedumbassery airport. Prime Minister Modi will perform pooja and darshan at Guruvayur Temple in Kerala on the morning of January 17. During his visit to Kerala, PM Modi will inaugurate three major infrastructure projects worth more than Rs. 4,000 crore viz the New Dry Dock (NDD) at Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL); the International Ship Repair Facility (ISRF) of CSL; and LPG Import Terminal of Indian Oil Corporation Limited at Puthuvypeen, Kochi, the Prime Minister office stated. Korean Air plane bumps another aircraft at a Japanese airport, no one injured

A Korean Air plane, carrying 289 people, collided with a parked Cathay Pacific aircraft at New Chitose Airport in northern Japan. The incident occurred during pushback for takeoff, but fortunately, no injuries or fires were reported. This incident follows a runway collision at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport just two weeks ago, involving a Japan Airlines airliner and a coast guard plane that resulted in the passenger plane catching fire.

Man stabbed in Delhi’s Prem Nagar, suffer serious injurious

A 20-year-old man, Nitesh, sustained serious injuries in an attack by unidentified individuals after a dispute in central Delhi’s Prem Nagar. The altercation occurred while Nitesh was crossing a road. The police were informed about the stabbing incident by a hospital at around 4 pm on Monday.

20 injured as two buses collide head-on in Kolkata’s Beleghata

Several people were injured as two buses collided head-on in Kolkata’s Beleghata area on Tuesday afternoon, police said. A private bus of route 44 and a Howrah-bound WBTC bus collided on the Beleghata Main Road, they said. The driver of the state-run WBTC bus was trapped in the cabin, and his condition was stated to be critical, they added. (PTI)

108-foot-long incense stick lit at Ayodhya

Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust Mahant Nritya Gopal Das on Tuesday lit a 108-foot-long incense stick brought here from Gujarat. Das lit the incense stick amid a huge crowd chanting “Jai Shri Ram”. The fragrance from the incense stick will reach a distance of 50 km, it has been claimed. The incense stick weighing 3,610 kg has a width of around three-and-a-half feet. It has been brought to this Uttar Pradesh town from Gujarat’s Vadodara. Cow dung, ghee, essence, flower extracts and herbs were used to prepare the incense stick, which, once lit, will last for about a month and a half. (PTI)
