Amritsar Lok Sabha Election 2024 Result Highlights: Amritsar, one of Punjab’s 13 Lok Sabha constituencies, participated in the seventh and final phase of the general elections on June 1. Historically dominated by Congress, the outcome of this crucial seat remains eagerly anticipated. This year’s contest featured Gurjeet Singh Aujla from Congress, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal from AAP, Shiromani Akali Dal’s Anil Joshi and BJP’s Taranjit Singh Sandhu. Notably, the BJP and Shiromani Akali Dal are contesting independently for the first time since 1996. The Sukhbir Badal-led Shiromani Akali Dal left the NDA in 2020 over the now-repealed farm laws. Meanwhile, the Congress and AAP have fielded their own candidates.
