The Delhi Metro and NCRTC launched a groundbreaking integrated QR-ticketing system on Monday (November 18), enabling passengers to book tickets for both metro and Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) services through their respective mobile applications.

According to a statement from RRTS, commuters can now easily book Delhi Metro tickets via the RRTS Connect app and Namo Bharat QR code tickets via the DMRC Momentum 2.0 app. This integration promises a seamless ticketing experience across both systems.

One India-One Ticket initiative

The system was officially inaugurated by NCRTC MD Shalabh Goel and DMRC MD Vikas Kumar. By merging metro and RRTS travel options on a single digital platform, the new initiative aims to streamline the commuting process, in line with the government’s One India-One Ticket plan, which seeks to make multi-modal travel more convenient.

The initiative is expected to reduce queues at stations and promote digital payments, supporting both environmentally friendly travel options and the shift towards cashless transactions.

It also continues NCRTC’s collaboration with IRCTC, which will allow passengers to book Namo Bharat train tickets alongside Indian railway tickets via the IRCTC platform. This integrated system aligns with the PM National Gati Shakti Master Plan’s objective to foster seamless connectivity across different transportation modes.

The 42-kilometre RRTS corridor now connects to the 393-kilometre DMRC metro network, offering a more efficient, unified travel experience that will ease congestion and contribute to a sustainable, cleaner future for the region.
